Become part of a great team: Action Sports Maui has trained a great team of talented individuals that are serious about their sport and proudly uphold the values of the school. Action Sports got its reputation from the efforts of the hardworking individuals that make up the team. Each person is vital to the function of our operations, so we are on the lookout for motivated and positive people to join our team as we continue to grow. We have long term and short term positions to fill. The busy season is summer with the demand for our services increases. We are requesting proposals from experienced independent instructors and companies that can staff our center for whole or part of the summer season, May thru September.

What we are looking for: We are always looking for good quality water sports instructors to be part of a motivated team. Experienced instructors are always highly valued. We have instructor training programs and apprenticeships for qualified applicants. Where you will work alongside more experienced instructors until you gain experience. We are looking for motivated, and enthusiastic sportsmen and women. They should be in good physical health to meet the demands of the sports. They should possess a high skill level in their discipline. Have good communication skills, including clear speech. Have good manners and etiquette. Understand customer service. Be computer literate, have a valid driver's license & U.S. work visa, Tax ID's, LLC or DBA. Being settled on Maui for a period of time is considered a plus because local knowledge is an important factor.

Each applicant should submit a complete detailed proposal/resume including; your company name, tax ID, a detailed list of training, education, skills, work experience, job descriptions, including a description of their responsibilities, and references and or contact persons that can confirm the previous work experience. Also list any certifications you have or training you have done including CPR or First Aid, boating certificates etc. You will need to provide copies of all certifications you are listing. Write and include with your proposal a short essay on why you want to work with Action Sports Maui. In your proposal include a complete resume, please provide your personal details including your age, a good physical description of yourself, a portrait photograph, and some action photos shots of you doing your sport. Availability: We have long term and short term positions to fill. So let us know your availability, rates, what dates or specific months do you anticipate being available.

Action Sports Instructor staff are expected to: Have a positive attitude. Respect the values of the school. Follow the procedures of the school. Ride every day. Improve their personal skill levels. Have their own equipment to ride. Do on the job training. Stay current with their CPR and First Aid certification. Have current instructor training or certification. A valid driver's license. Continue to learn and invest time becoming a better instructor. Must be open minded to trying new ideas and training techniques. Instructors need to stay knowledgeable with their sport, have a good understanding of all the current equipment, and trends. Have good local knowledge of the island, and the local beaches and sailing guidelines. Know and respect all the local rules. Be drug free. Have good personal hygiene and grooming. Maintain a neat appearance. Act professionally at all times both on and off the water. Be reliable and dependable, and loyal. Have a cell phone, reliable transport and email access. Be good verbal communicators to people of all ages and different backgrounds. Be a good role model because your students are watching you on and off the water.

Instructor Placement & Instructor Exchanges: our instructors have a good reputation and they are highly regarded in the industry. We usually have no trouble finding placement for our instructors in other locations. Our instructors may want to travel and teach, or run a tour of clinics. Our sister schools on the mainland and abroad work with us to find placements for our instructors. We are also ready to work with instructors on loan to us from other centers. We find that everyone benefits from such exchanges, and we can work on new ideas and different approaches together.
