Action Sports Maui was created by master waterman David Dorn. David has used his 25 years international teaching experience, to realize his ten-year vision to create the ultimate Water-sports Training Center. Action Sports brings the best watermen in each field together to offer the highest level of instruction possible. Each Action Sports Instructor is a highly trained full-time professional and expert in their field. Action Sports Maui has also become the primary center for watersports Instructor training in Hawaii. Every Instructor is rigorously trained and tested to teach under Maui's demanding conditions. each instructor is CPR and First Aid certified, and undergoes a comprehensive training program to equip them with the necessary skills. This combined with their years of watersports experience makes the some of the best instructors around. Watersports instructor training courses are one of the areas Action Sports Maui specializes in. Each year we teach instructors from around the world in windsurfing surfing and kiteboarding. Currently we are the IKO's premier instructor training center in the USA. and offer all levels of education, training and certification. Including instructor retraining, and certification equivalency programs. 

Good Guys Wear Black.....
Action Sports Instructors and Instructor Trainers wear a distinctive black uniform that is easily recognizable, the choice of the black color is rooted in strong surfing traditions that started in Australia and Hawaii. Action Instructors wear their uniform with pride because they know that they are a part of a select group of talented individuals that have made the Action Sports grade. (Our Trainees wear the BLUE uniforms).

Beware of imitations! They say that imitation is a sincere form of flattery however the other schools on Maui have decided to try and copy Action Sports wherever possible. Their latest attempt at "flattery" has been to try and copy our distinctive uniform. So beware of inferior imitations. Action Sports is often imitated but never duplicated.

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING AT ACTION SPORTS MAUI
If you are considering a future career as professional water sports instructor you may want to take some training with us. We offer complete Instructor training in surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. We are certifying all levels of windsurfing instructors under the U.S. Sailing system. Our Kiteboarding Instructor courses use the KISS (Kitesurfing International System) & the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization). Instructor levels vary from the Assistant Instructor to Instructor Trainer. A limited number of hands-on apprenticeships are available each year and we encourage all participants in the Instructor courses to apply and get excellent real time experience.
